In 1999, as part of a major addition to our house, we were able to include a 22’ x 15’ space on the ground level to accommodate what would become a Home Theater. It has been over five years since this project has been completed (if, in fact, one can ever call a Home Theater “completed)” so the theater has evolved a bit more . While the basic structure of the theater has remained the same, the equipment housed in it has been upgraded several times and, most likely, this will continue to be the case. Additionally, the media employed has moved from an LD/DVD combination to essentially all DVDs in the primary storage space. The latest “wrinkle” in order to accommodate a rapidly growing DVD collection has been to double up the storage. Each shelf now contains DVDs stored two deep. The software program DVD Profiler is vital to me so that I can locate titles in the hidden row - and it works surprisingly well (highly recommended). The LD collection is now housed in auxiliary storage in an anter oom, although it is still viewable with the current equipment. Speaking of equipment, this site has a separate section to address that. If you refer to the equipment section you will get a full accounting of what is currently installed as well as a chronology of various installation milestones. The site employs a variety of browsing options for your convenience. These include a large number of links to pertinent information on the web as well as animated navigation buttons at the left and a more traditional menu at the bottom of each page.
Enjoy your tour.
